What pests does Redline treat?
Redline provides professional pest-control services for many common household and structural pests, including ants, roaches, spiders, fleas, ticks, wasps, hornets, rodents, fire ants and other covered pests.
The pests covered by a particular service depend on the service plan or treatment selected. Some pest problems require specialized inspection or treatment and may not be included in a standard residential pest-control service.
Your written service documentation identifies the applicable scope of service and coverage.
How often should I have pest control service?
The appropriate service frequency depends on pest activity, property conditions and the level of ongoing pest management desired.
Redline offers monthly, quarterly and one-time pest-control options.
For homeowners who want ongoing pest management, monthly service provides regular opportunities to inspect the property, identify changing pest conditions and provide appropriate treatment throughout the year.
Do you treat both the inside and outside of my home?
Yes, when appropriate for the service being performed.
Exterior pest control is an important part of managing pest activity around a structure. Treatment may be directed toward appropriate areas where pests live, travel or attempt to enter the home.
When interior pest activity is present, Redline can inspect affected areas and provide targeted interior treatment where appropriate, including crack-and-crevice treatment.
All pesticide applications are performed according to applicable product labeling and service requirements.
What should I do before pest-control service?
Preparation requirements depend on the pest, property conditions and treatment being performed.
If preparation is necessary, Redline will provide instructions appropriate for your service. Customers should follow any instructions provided before, during and after treatment.

THE REDLINE SERVICE GUARANTEE
What is the Redline Service Guarantee?
Redline stands behind our recurring pest-control service.
We will treat your home on a regularly scheduled basis for the pests covered under your service plan. If you experience concerns with a covered pest before your next regularly scheduled service, we will return to address the concern at no additional charge.
The guarantee applies to pests covered under an active recurring service plan and is subject to the terms, conditions, limitations and customer responsibilities contained in the applicable written service agreement.
What happens if I see a covered pest between scheduled services?
Contact Redline.
If you experience concerns with a pest covered under your active recurring service plan before your next regularly scheduled visit, we will return to address the covered pest concern at no additional charge, subject to the terms of your service agreement.
Does the Redline Service Guarantee cover every pest?
No. Coverage applies to the pests included in your specific service plan.
Certain pests, specialized treatments or conditions may require a separate service or treatment plan. Your written service agreement identifies the applicable scope of service and coverage.
SERVICE AGREEMENTS & DOCUMENTATION
Does Redline require a service agreement?
Yes. Redline requires appropriate written documentation for the services we perform.
Depending on the service, documentation may include a service agreement, treatment authorization, inspection report, disclosure, waiver, release or other applicable documents.
These documents help establish the authorized work, scope of service, applicable terms and conditions, customer responsibilities, limitations and other information relevant to the service being performed.
Termite services and certain wood-destroying-organism services are subject to additional Alabama regulatory requirements.
Why does Redline require written documentation?
Clear documentation helps both Redline and our customers understand what service has been authorized and the terms that apply to that service.
Alabama also requires structural pest-control permittees to maintain records of professional work, including information concerning the service
performed and, when applicable, pesticide use.
Redline's documentation requirements are also part of our own business procedures and should not be interpreted to mean Alabama law requires the same customer agreement or release for every type of service.
Does signing a service agreement mean I have to enroll in recurring pest control?
Not necessarily.
The documentation required for a particular service establishes the terms of the work being performed. A one-time service does not automatically become recurring service simply because service documentation is required.
If you choose a recurring service plan, the applicable agreement will identify the terms of that service.
Does Redline offer one-time pest control?
Yes.
Redline offers professional one-time residential pest control in Huntsville, AL and surrounding service areas for customers who need treatment without automatically enrolling in recurring pest-control service.
Our standard one-time residential pest-control service is currently advertised at $200 and includes appropriate inside and outside treatment for covered common household pests.
Can I switch to recurring service after a one-time treatment?
Yes.
After completing a qualifying one-time pest-control service, you may ask about available discounted recurring pest-control options.
Enrollment in recurring service requires acceptance of the applicable recurring service terms and documentation.
What are the benefits of monthly pest control?
Pest pressure around a home can change throughout the year because of temperature, rainfall, moisture, landscaping and other environmental conditions.
Monthly pest control gives Redline regular opportunities to inspect the property, monitor pest activity and provide appropriate targeted treatments throughout the year.
Is monthly pest control better than quarterly pest control?
The appropriate service frequency depends on the property, pest activity and the customer's pest-management needs.
Monthly service provides more frequent professional attention and opportunities to address changing conditions. Quarterly service may be appropriate for other properties and situations.
Redline can help you select an appropriate service option.
Frequently Asked termite Questions
How do I know if my home has termites?
Possible signs of termite activity can include mud tubes, termite swarmers, discarded wings and visible damage to wood or other cellulose materials.
However, termite activity can occur in areas that are difficult for a property owner to see.
A professional termite inspection can help identify visible evidence of termite activity in accessible areas.
Subterranean termite colonies can remain active even when homeowners aren't seeing visible swarmers.
Termite swarming is more noticeable during certain periods, but the absence of swarmers does not by itself establish that a structure is free from termite activity.
Are termites active year-round in Alabama?
Redline provides professional termite inspections, liquid termite treatment and termite-protection options.
The appropriate treatment depends on the structure, property conditions, evidence discovered during inspection and other applicable treatment requirements.
Alabama establishes minimum requirements for subterranean termite treatment in addition to the requirements contained in the applicable pesticide label and labeling.
What type of termite treatment does Redline provide?
Is a written contract required for termite treatment?
Yes.
Alabama requires a written contract to be executed before subterranean termite work begins. The regulations specify information the contract must contain, including the property being treated, contract period, treatment price, reinspection provisions and applicable termite-protection terms.
Alabama also requires a subterranean-termite contract to cover service for at least one year.
Redline will provide the applicable termite documentation for review and acceptance.
Does Redline offer termite bonds?
Yes.
Redline offers termite-protection options subject to inspection, eligibility and the terms of the applicable written termite agreement.
Your individual agreement identifies the protection provided, renewal provisions, limitations and other applicable terms.
Alabama requires termite contracts to conspicuously identify whether the contract provides retreatment only or provides retreatment and repair of termite damage within the limits stated in the contract.
Why might a termite treatment require a waiver?
Certain structural conditions, inaccessible areas or other circumstances can affect the ability to perform all elements of a standard termite treatment.
Where Alabama's regulations require an official waiver, the applicable Official State of Alabama Waiver Form must be completed as required and becomes part of the subterranean-termite contract.
Redline will explain applicable treatment conditions and required documentation before treatment.
My home is on a slab foundation. Can I still get termites?
Yes. Homes built on slab foundations can still experience subterranean termite infestations.
Termites live in the soil and can gain access to a slab-constructed home through small cracks, expansion joints, plumbing penetrations, gaps around utility lines and other concealed entry points. Because much of this activity can occur behind walls or in other hidden areas, termite activity in a slab home may be difficult for a homeowner to detect.
In some cases, significant termite damage may occur before obvious signs become visible. Without routine professional termite inspections, the first noticeable sign could be damaged trim, flooring or wall materials—or something as unexpected as a picture or wall-mounted item becoming loose because the wood or material supporting it has been damaged.
A routine professional termite inspection can help identify visible evidence of termite activity before hidden damage becomes more extensive and costly.
My home was treated for termites when it was built. Am I still protected?
Not necessarily. A termite pre-treatment performed during construction should not be considered permanent termite protection.
Pre-construction termite treatment is designed to protect a structure as it is being built, but homeowners should not assume that an original treatment means the home will remain protected indefinitely. Changes to the property, construction or excavation can affect previously treated areas, and termite activity may develop without obvious signs. Alabama's termite regulations specifically recognize circumstances such as altered conditions and breakdown of a soil pesticide barrier when addressing subsequent termite treatment.
If your home received a termite pre-treatment when it was built but is not currently covered by an active termite protection agreement, Redline recommends having the property professionally inspected. This is especially important for older homes that have relied solely on the original pre-construction treatment.
Following an inspection, Redline can determine whether evidence of termite activity is present and whether a post-construction termite treatment and ongoing termite protection should be recommended for the property.
Don't assume an original termite pre-treatment means your home is still protected today.
My home came with termite bait stations when it was built. Is that the same as a liquid termite pre-treatment?
No.
A termite baiting system is not the same as a liquid soil pre-treatment.
Some newly constructed homes are protected using a termite baiting system rather than a comprehensive liquid soil treatment. The presence of termite bait stations around your home therefore does not necessarily mean that the soil beneath and around the structure received a liquid termite pre-treatment when the home was built. Alabama regulations recognize baiting systems and soil treatments as different methods of subterranean termite control.
Termite baiting systems also require ongoing monitoring and maintenance. Under Alabama regulations, structures with baiting or monitoring systems must have a termite contract, and unless the product labeling specifically provides otherwise, the system must be monitored at intervals not exceeding 90 days.
If your home was originally protected with bait stations but is no longer under an active termite protection agreement or the baiting system is no longer being professionally monitored and maintained, Redline recommends a professional termite inspection.
Following the inspection, Redline can evaluate the home's previous termite protection, current conditions and any evidence of termite activity and determine whether a post-construction liquid termite treatment and ongoing termite protection are appropriate.
Don't assume that old bait stations around your home mean your home is currently protected from termites.
My home came with termite bait stations when it was built. Is that the same as a liquid termite pre-treatment?
No.
A properly performed liquid termite treatment does not ordinarily require inspections every 90 days.
Unlike termite baiting systems, which generally require monitoring at intervals of no more than 90 days unless the product labeling provides otherwise, liquid termite treatments are typically inspected annually under an active termite protection agreement.
This difference can make liquid termite protection more convenient for homeowners because it generally requires fewer scheduled service visits.
There can also be a significant difference in ongoing costs.
Redline's current annual renewal options for qualifying liquid termite protection are:
-
Retreatment-only protection: one-time charge of $150 to $250 per year.
-
Retreatment and damage-repair protection: one-time charge of $250 to $300 per year, subject to the terms and limits of the written agreement.
Baiting-system costs depend on the provider, system and maintenance agreement. Because bait stations generally require more frequent monitoring, the associated service and renewal costs may differ from those of a liquid treatment.
Following your initial liquid termite treatment, Redline will explain the applicable inspection schedule, renewal costs and protection options. All services are subject to the terms of your written termite agreement and applicable Alabama requirements.
What is a termite letter?
“Termite letter” is a commonly used term associated with wood-destroying-organism inspections performed for real-estate transactions.
For qualifying Alabama real-estate transactions, the regulated document is the Official Alabama Wood Infestation Inspection Report.
The inspection addresses visible evidence of active or previous infestation by applicable wood-destroying organisms in accessible areas of the inspected structure. Alabama's rules recognize that inaccessible areas may contain concealed infestation or damage that cannot be discovered during the inspection.
Does a termite letter guarantee there are no termites anywhere in the house?
No.
The Official Alabama Wood Infestation Inspection Report concerns evidence visible in accessible areas at the time of inspection. The Alabama rules expressly recognize that concealed infestation or damage may exist in inaccessible areas.
The official report does, however, carry the treatment guarantee prescribed by Alabama Rule 80-10-9-.18 if a qualifying infestation from which apparent freedom was certified is found within 90 days of issuance, subject to the conditions of that rule.
Does Redline provide termite treatment for new construction?
Yes.
Redline provides pre-construction termite treatment for qualifying new residential and commercial construction.
Treatment must be coordinated with the appropriate stage of construction and performed according to applicable treatment requirements and product labeling.
Frequently Asked Crawl Space Questions
What crawl space services does Redline provide?
Redline provides crawl-space services including encapsulation, moisture barriers, dehumidifiers, drainage solutions, sump pumps, automatic foundation vents, crawl-space doors and floor-support solutions.
The appropriate solution depends on the conditions found at the property.
What causes moisture in a crawl space?
Crawl-space moisture can be associated with ground moisture, humidity, drainage conditions, water intrusion and other property-specific conditions.
Because every crawl space is different, Redline evaluates the property before recommending an appropriate moisture-control solution.
What's the difference between a moisture barrier and crawl space encapsulation?
A crawl-space moisture barrier is generally intended to help control moisture originating from exposed ground.
A more comprehensive encapsulation system addresses additional crawl-space surfaces and conditions as appropriate for the property.
The recommended approach depends on the crawl space and the moisture conditions identified during inspection.
Yes.
Redline installs crawl-space dehumidifiers when appropriate as part of a crawl-space moisture-management solution.
Depending on property conditions, dehumidification may be used in conjunction with moisture barriers, encapsulation, drainage or other crawl-space improvements.
No.
Different moisture problems can require different solutions. Depending on property conditions, recommendations could involve a moisture barrier, dehumidification, drainage improvements, encapsulation or another appropriate solution.
Redline evaluates the crawl space before recommending the work to be performed.
